Keith Roddy is the President of Capital Markets for Hartman Income REIT Management, Inc. Mr. Roddy leads the firm’s broker-dealer, registered investment advisor, family office, institutional and internal sales teams while providing direction to the company on REIT sales growth and investment operations.
Mr. Roddy has more than 20 years of financial services and executive sales and marketing experience. Prior to joining the firm, Roddy served as the Director of National Accounts for Security Benefit where he raised over $3B in new product offerings, grew general account assets from $8B to $42B, and executed selling agreements with over 40 IBD/RIA firms and more than 40,000 advisors. Additionally, Mr. Roddy served as Head of Retail Distribution at Guardian Life Insurance for 10 years. He oversaw all mutual fund, annuity, and small plan 401(k) sales and grew the organization from 18 to more than 180 individuals and sales from $350 million to more than $4bn.
Early in his career, Roddy held the role of Managing Director for Roddy Group where he specialized in the financial services industry with clients in real estate, oil & gas, the equipment leasing alternative space, and insurance and asset management firms. His practice concentrated on distribution analysis and sales growth.
Mr. Roddy attended the University of Houston, where he majored in business and holds his insurance and annuity, series 7, 26, 63, and 65 licensures.
Gian Craparo is the senior regional sales director and product specialist responsible for overseeing the sales in the eastern region of the United States and supporting the national accounts team. Prior to joining Hartman, Craparo served as the vice president of sales (external wholesaler) for Resource Real Estate, a sponsor of non-traded REITs and real estate and credit-based interval funds. Before joining Resource, he was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.
Craparo holds his bachelor’s degree in business administration with dual concentrations in finance and real estate from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and is a candidate for the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation.
Matthew Somers is a regional sales director overseeing capital investments in the western region of the United States. As an investment management consultant with more than 20 years in the wholesaling field, Somers is responsible for raising capital for Hartman’s investment programs and building and managing client relationships within independent broker-dealer and registered investment advisor channels. Prior to joining the firm, Somers served as senior vice president for BNY Mellon/Dreyfus where he was regularly recognized as a top producer in his sales regions, launched two closed-end initial public offerings, and generated approximately $2.5 billion in fund sales during his 17-year tenure at the firm.
Somers holds a bachelor’s degree from Baker University and FINRA Series 7, 6, 65, and 63 securities licenses.
Brian Baker is the regional sales director for the U.S. central region. Baker oversees sales across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. Baker has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and as an external wholesaler at Hartman, he will focus on raising capital and building new relationships with independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisors. Prior to joining Hartman’s capital markets group, he served as an associate portfolio manager at Legacy Asset Management where he managed investment portfolios upward of $150 million and consulted clients on developing investment portfolio strategies.
Baker holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in financial planning and organizational leadership. He also has received the chartered alternative investment analyst (CAIA) designation, holds his FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, and is an accredited asset management specialist (AAMS).
William Machacek is the Regional Sales Director for the U.S. North Central region. Machacek will oversee sales across Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana.
Prior to joining Hartman’s Capital Markets Group, Mr. Machacek served as a Personal Financial Representative for Allstate Financial Services. Additionally, Machacek held the roles of RS Investments Senior Regional Vice President at Guardian Investor Services and Regional Vice President for Provident Mutual Life Insurance.
As a tenured financial professional with over 20 years in the industry, Mr. Machacek focused on raising capital for the firm and building new relationships with independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisors.
Machacek attended Mankato State University in Minnesota where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He also holds his NASD Series 7, 24, 31, 63, and 65 licenses, as well as an insurance license in Minnesota and Wisconsin for state life, disability, health, and Variable Annuity Insurance.
Stephen Ternois is the vice president of institutional sales at Hartman, leading the company’s capital raising efforts by expanding family office relationships and providing capital formation guidance. Ternois has experience in capital formation, acquisition underwriting, and sourcing for commercial real estate projects. Before joining Hartman, he served as the associate director of investor relations at Alpha Capital Partners where he spearheaded capital formation initiatives, built an investor relations team, and raised more than $170 million in 18 months for six funds, the company said. Earlier in his career, Ternois was director of acquisitions and investor relations at CRS Realty.
Ternois holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and management with an energy specialization from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Margaret Hartman is an associate at Hartman focused on new capital raising efforts for the firm’s commercial real estate fund and joint venture opportunities. Hartman started her career with Hines where she worked in their commercial real estate investment management team assisting acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management efforts.
Hartman graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2017 and resides in Houston, Texas. She is active in her church and aids her family’s foundation in its philanthropic efforts.
Eli Horn is an internal wholesale associate at Hartman. Horn brings with him over 10 years of experience in wholesales and financial advising. Horn has worked with numerous clients to analyze and establish financial goals while serving as a financial advisor at Leaders Financial Group. Horn’s seven years at AIG allowed him to hone his sales skills and develop a broad understanding of the market we are currently in.
Horn holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Houston – Downtown. He also holds his FINRA series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
Barrett Koerselman is an internal wholesale associate at Hartman. Koerselman has had experience in financial advising while at Certa Investors and has handled over 400 clients during his stint at JP Morgan Chase. Koerselman owned and operated his own training gym from 2017 – 2019, servicing over 100 clients.
Koerselman holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Sam Houston State University, where he also was a part of the team that won the 2016 Southland Conference Baseball Tournament. He is also certified in social security claiming strategies (CSSCS), life and health insurance, property and casualty claims. Koerselman holds FINRA securities industry essentials (SIE), and series 6, NASAA series 63, and 65 securities licenses.
Mason Harrington is an internal wholesale associate at Hartman. Harrington brings strong customer relationship management skills as well as five years of industry experience. During his time at Lincoln Property Management, Harrington was able to increase their occupancy rate by 15%. He also has extensive experience with financial advising as well as sales.
Harrington holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University. He also holds FINRA securities industry essentials (SIE), series 6, and 63 securities licenses.
